Nurse Practitioner/Owner Skyline Medical Practice

Dawnya is a graduate of Warren County High School.  She obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from Old Dominion University in Norfolk, VA. After college she returned to Front Royal working  as a staff nurse at Warren Memorial Hospital for nearly 10 years. While working, she was able to complete her Master’s Degree from Shenandoah University in Winchester, VA.  She has worked in a variety of clinical settings, including Family Medicine, Neurology, and Orthopaedics as a Board Certified Nurse Practitioner for 10 years.  This past year she was able to obtain her license to practice autonomously. 

Dawnya is happily married and has two beautiful young children.  In her spare time she enjoys gardening, running and hiking, and vacationing at the beach.

Carole "Kathy" Funk RN, MSN, FNP-C--Kathy has spent her entire career in the medical field beginning in 1994 when she graduated with her Bachelors of Science in Nursing from Liberty University. She worked for 18 years in the hospital setting primarily on Labor and Delivery, Mother/Baby and PreOp nursing units. She returned to school and graduated from Shenandoah University in 2012 with a Masters degree and subsequently became board certified as a family nurse practitioner. Initially, she spent 2 years in the neurosurgery field working in the office and assisting in the operating room. She then spent the next several years in urgent care facilities taking care of all age groups with minor illness and injuries. She joins our practice with 10 years of nurse practitioner experience and full autonomy in the state of Virginia. She will be accepting new patients beginning April 2022. She looks forward to serving you and the community.

I have worked in the office for 16 years now and have enjoyed the people I work with. Working the “check-in” has changed some over the years. As with any office and computers, there are always updates. Trying to adapt to newness, while working part-time, makes it challenging. Hopefully our new name and few new ways of doing things is successful and I hope to be here for the years to come.

I have been with Skyline Family Practice for 23 years and now with Skyline Medical Practice since July 1, 2020. My hobbies include reading, painting, and gardening. My happy place is the beach.

I have been at the practice for almost one year. I have been a nurse for 10 years. I am a Mom to four amazing kids. In my spare time I enjoy being outdoors and spending time with my kids. I am a huge Ravens fan.

I’ve been in healthcare for about 2.5 years. Since I’ve come to the practice, I love the bond I’ve made with the patients and my work family. Outside of work, I like to be at the beach and spend time with my family.

My name is Jennifer Grindle and I’ve enjoyed my adventures in healthcare for the last 15 years. I started off as a certified nursing assistant in long-term care at Lynn Care for the first 4 years and now I’ve reached 11 years as a registered nurse. Having been at this practice since becoming a RN, I have enjoyed the relationships I’ve built with the patients through the years of working here. Outside of work I enjoy family time with my husband and 3 kids, we love the outdoors, our favorites are camping and going to the lake.
